筆者大概在2006年開始聽聞有RealBasic這個產品, 曾經下載測試, 但是發覺沒有內建的報表生成器, 除非另外購買On-Target Report, 於是便打消了轉用RB的念頭, 我相信大部份的VB6開發人員也有同樣的想法, 因為報表對一般的商業軟件來說, 實在太重要了, 沒有好的報表設計工具, 就像刀仔鋸大樹一樣, 會嚴重影響開發軟件的速度, 所以只好繼續使用VB6及我至愛的ActiveReport, 但是這幾年間仍然繼續留意RealBasic 的發展進度及消息, 直至RealBasic 2009R4 的版本報表編輯器終於出現了, 而且在這段期間出現了很多源程式碼介紹如何編寫報表及預覽畫面, 另外也漸漸有其他不同的報表產品出現, 以下是搜集回來的報表控件及技術文件 :
